My newest sculpts inspired by Alice in Wonderland. They were both hand sculpted using Cernit doll clay over strong wire armatures, hand painted in acrylics and varnished for color protection. Both have been sold.
You can follow my art dolls, costumes and works in progress on my art page.
I plan to make some more Alice inspired dolls soon. For now here is the Queen of Hearts and Alice.
This weekend I decided I was in the mood to do some more digital works. I know I really should be finishing up my ball jointed doll so that I can post her for sale, but it seems my mind is often distracted by other ideas. I decided to call my lovely niece over to the house to be my model. It was such a blast doing her makeup as well as turning her long blonde locks into a piece of artwork. Dolling her up really made me want to go back to my days of being a hair stylist. The most exciting part for me was incorporating the horns into her hair. Lucky for me she didn’t mind being my guinea pig. We ended up with 300 photos so I still have several more that I want to use but for now this is the only one that I have painted. So now that this is out of my system I can get back to my doll. I will hopefully have more images of her tomorrow.
